Schaumburg's Early Offense Drops Washington in Game 1 of FLDS
The Wild Things dropped game one to the Schaumburg Boomers on the road in the best-of-three FLDS by a final of 11-2 after the Boomers' bats were lively early in the contest. The Wild Things now face a must-win game 2 Sunday at home to stay alive.

The Washington Wild Things are the fastest team in Frontier League history to 1,000 wins. The milestone win came Friday, August 12 at Gateway, in Washington's 1,874th game in club history.

With a 6-4 victory in Sauget Friday night, the Washington Wild Things have become the fastest team to 1,000 wins in league history, getting to the milestone in 1,874 games. The win is also the fifth in a row for the first-place club.
Sandro Cabrera Picked Up By Marlins' Organization
For the first time in franchise history the Miami Marlins have purchased a player's contract from the Wild Things' roster. LHP Sandro Cabrera is headed to the Marlins after making 13 starts for us this season.
Washington Evens Series, Tom Vaeth Gets 100th Win
Washington won to even the series with the Grizzlies behind strong pitching and nine unanswered runs. The win is Tom Vaeth's 100th as a Wild Thing, making him the third fastest manager in club history to 100 wins.
Washington Suffers Series-Opening Defeat Versus Gateway
The Wild Things managed just one hit, as Gateway starter Lukas Veinbergs no hit Washington into the ninth before Jared Mang's double broke up the bid. Washington ended up bringing the tying runner to the plate, but fell.
Ottawa Walks Off in Middle Game, Evens Set
With a four-run ninth, the Titans came back in the middle game to win 6-5 and even the series. It's Washington first loss of the year (33-1) when leading after eight innings.
Late Offense Wins Finale for Washington
The Wild Things scored six runs in the seventh and eighth combined and won the series in Evansville as the league breaks for the All-Star break and game in Washington this week.
Washington Drops Finale, Still in First
Joliet scored the first 10 runs of the rubber game and won 10-3, despite a Washington flurry in the bottom of the ninth. The Wild Things remain in first in the West Division as they hit the road before the break.

Washington Completes Two Trades With Southern Illinois
The Wild Things acquired infielders Jamey Smart and Ian Walters to complete previous trades with the Southern Illinois Miners. Walters drove in 53 this year in 89 games with the Miners while Smart hit .508 in 18 games.
