A 2016 All-Big 12 First Team selection and the 15th round pick of the Cardinals in 2016, JR Davis signed with the Wild Things Tuesday, July 23, and begins his first stint in independent ball with the team. Davis was a league MVP two times during high school at St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School in Vallejo, California and hit .347 with 32 RBI in his first and only season at OKSU. In his minor-league system days, he spent three years, including most of this year, in A-Ball for Peoria (Midwest League for the Cardinals from 2017-18) and West Virginia (South Atlantic League for the Mariners this year). He also played in one game for Triple-A Tacoma in the Mariners’ system this season and went 1-for-4 with a run scored.
