Wild Things Sign OF Jesse Robinson Jr. Out of California Winter League

WASHINGTON, Pa. (Feb. 9) – The Washington Wild Things have made a deal with outfielder Jesse Robinson Jr. official today by processing Robinson’s first professional contract. The outfielder and former Lynn University Fighting Knights player is currently playing in the California Winter League, which the Frontier League has a partnership with.

As of this release, Robinson Jr. has played in 11 games and is 8-for-25 at the plate with a double, six runs scored and five RBI to go with nine stolen bases and a pair of walks. He stole three bases in one game on January 28. Robinson is a 23-year old outfielder from Maryland that played in college at Virginia Commonwealth and Lynn, which has also seen stops or the careers of former Wild Thing AJ Orrico and current Wild Things Cole Fowler and Ryan Ford.

At Lynn, Robinson played two seasons, the better of which was in 2025. He slashed .358/.405/.490 last season and had 16 doubles, a triple, three homers and drove in 40. That went along with a career-best 13 stolen bases and only 21 strikeouts in 224 plate appearances across 47 games. For the Fighting Knights in 2024, the outfielder appeared in 49 games and slashed .273/.315/.428 with nine doubles, a triple, six home runs and 19 RBI.

He also played two seasons at VCU. In 2022, he was 13-for-64 at the plate with nine RBI and four stolen bases, before appearing in just 18 games in 2023. He was 3-for-11 at the dish with an RBI and two doubles. Robinson Jr. also played in two summer collegiate seasons with Princeton (APPY), and in 48 total games, slashed .315/.392/.497 with 15 doubles, six homers and 41 RBI to go with 16 stolen bases and 43 runs scored.

He played at Deep Run where he also played football.

The Washington Wild Things will open their 24th season on May 7, 2026, with the homer opener scheduled for Friday, May 15 against the Schaumburg Boomers at EQT Park.
