Wild Things Sign C Three Hillier, Place Estrada on 7-Day IL

WASHINGTON, Pa. (June 18) – The Washington Wild Things have signed catcher Three Hillier, who finished up a five-year collegiate career this season with his lone one at High Point, to the active roster.
Hillier slashed .294/.390/.521 this season in 54 games for High Point and connected on 10 doubles, two triples, 10 home runs and drove in 49. He walked 31 times to 21 strikeouts and scored 45 runs. The season came off four seasons at Liberty University, where he saw 53 games in 2022 and 57 games of action in 2023. His best season at Liberty was in 2022, where he had 14 doubles, seven home runs and 43 RBI. He walked 32 times and stole two bases that season.
He’s a graduate of Asheville High School (NC) and a three-time All-Conference player there as well as All-State in 2019. He was 2020 Western Carolina Male Athlete of the Year and 17-0 in his career on the mound in high school. He also was the starting quarterback on the football team, setting school records for touchdowns, completions and passing yards. His dad Bill Hllier Jr. played baseball at UNC Asheville and played professional in the Cleveland organization, while his mother ran track at Western Carolina.
In a move that coincides with the signing, catcher Willie Estrada was placed on the 7-Day Injured List with a hand injury suffered last night in Evansville. The Wild Things still have an active roster at 23 as the series continues tonight at Bosse Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:35/6:35 p.m. CT.
