Wild Things Sign RHP Albert Cuello-Batista

WASHINGTON, Pa. (April 12) – The Washington Wild Things have signed Albert Cuello-Batista, a right-handed pitcher who was born in the Dominican Republic and grew up in Manchester, New Hampshire.

The righty worked in seven games for the Missoula PaddleHeads (PION) in 2024, logging 6.1 innings with eight strikeouts. He pitched for the Frederick Keys in the MLB Draft League in 2023. He made 11 appearances for Frederick, five of which were starts. In 29.2 innings, he struck out 22 opposing hitters and was 2-1 with a 6.07 ERA.

His final two seasons on college baseball came at Southern New Hampshire, where he appeared in nine games and worked 8.2 innings with 11 strikeouts and five runs allowed. He had played his first bit of college baseball at Monroe College (NY) and his high school ball at Manchester Central High School.

He’s been training and coaching at Ascent Athlete, a baseball and softball player development facility in Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania.

Cuello-Batista will report with the team in less than two weeks for the start of spring training.
