Win Streak Ends in Opener at Tri-City

TROY, NY (July 13) - The Wild Things saw their six-game win streak snapped in their return to the road in Tuesday's series opener against the Tri-City Valleycats by a final of 6-3. Tri-City got four RBI from Oscar Campos in the victory.

Washington was able to draw first blood in the contest when Andrew Czech hit his ninth home run of the season, an estimated 380 feet to right field in the second, giving Washington a 1-0 lead. Tri-City bounced right back, with Campos lifting a two-run homer to left field in the bottom of the second inning to give the Cats a 2-1 lead.

The Wild Things clawed right back and tied the game in the third on a sac fly by Bralin Jackson. In the fourth Campos hit the first of his two RBI singles to give Tri-City a 3-2 lead, before the Cats added three in the home sixth, higlighted by Campos' second run-scoring single and an RBI double by Carson Maxwell.

Hector Roa grounded home a run in the eighth inning of the ballgame but couldn't fight back any closer as Trey Cochran-Gill got a four-out save, his 13th save of the year.

Steven Colon will take the hill for Washington in the middle game tomorrow at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium and will be opposed by Tri-City righty Josh Hiatt. First pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m.
