Joe Campagna's Strong Night Leads to Wild Things Win in Middle Game

WASHINGTON, Pa. (June 23) - After a good night for Joe Campagna and a drama-filled finish, Washington came away with a victory to tie the series in the middle game Wednesday, 6-5.

Joe Campagna had a strong game with four RBI and two home runs. Campagna scored the first run of the game in the second inning when he hit his second home run of the season.

The Y’alls took the lead in the fifth inning when they scored two runs. However, that did not last long because Campagna hit his second home run of the game to bring the score to 2-2.

The Wild Things plated four in the sixth inning to take the lead. With the bases loaded, Connor Perry hit a single allowing for Andrew Sohn to score. Shortly after, Campagna hit a two-run single. Perry scored the final run for the Wild Things on the front end of a double steal.

When it seemed as if the Wild Things had a sufficient lead in the ninth inning, the Y’alls had a huge at-bat, but it was not enough to win the game. Chad Sedio hit a home run to plate two and Trevor Craport scored the fifth run. With the bases loaded, catcher Trevor Casanova made a sweeping catch at home plate to get the second out on a fielder’s choice. Zach Strecker got a strikeout for the final out and prevented the Y’alls from tying the game.

The Wild Things will play against the Florence Y’alls tomorrow evening at 7:05 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets at wildthingstickets.com.
