Wild Things Drop Opener to Florence
WASHINGTON, Pa (June, 22) - The Washington Wild Things lost 7-2 to the Florence Y’alls in the first of a three-game series Tuesday. The team held up a strong battle until the ninth inning when the Y’alls added four runs and took a five-run lead.
The Y’alls scored the first run of the game when Trevor Craport hit a double off Wild Things pitcher, Keven Pimentel, and advanced Chad Sedio to the plate.
In the top of the fourth inning, Connor Crane hit an RBI allowing for Jordan Brower to score the second run. The Y’alls scored again in the sixth inning after a bunt play which led to Craport scoring.
During the bottom of the seventh inning, the Wild Things made the scoreboard by gaining two runs. Hector Roa and Andrew Sohn both hit triples for the team and scored the only two runs for the Wild Things.
BJ Sabol took the mound at the top of the eighth inning with no runs scored against him. After multiple RBI hits by the Y’alls and an overthrown pitch to catcher Trevor Casanova, the score rose to 7-2 in the final at bat for the Y’alls.
