National Anthem Auditions Announced!
Washington, PA -- Officials at Wild Things Park will host their 18th audition for National Anthem performers. Auditions will take place at the park from 10:00 a.m. until noon on Saturday, April 27th.
Each spring The Wild Things invite performers to audition for of a panel of judges who select the National Anthem performers for the baseball season.
“There are so many talented people out there,” said Christine Blaine from the Wild Things. “I’m always in awe of not only their talent, but their courage! The Star-Spangled Banner is not an easy song to sing or to play, and I’m impressed each year with the level of talent we see.”
The open audition will take place on the field from 10:00 a.m. until noon on a first-come-first-serve basis. Hopefuls will need to complete paperwork and then will be asked to perform. When they have completed their auditions, they can leave.
“We have about 25 slots open for this season,” added Blaine. I’m really looking forward to the auditions, and I hope the weather is kind to us because this audition is a rain or shine event.” If people have questions, they can call the office, but it’s pretty simple, just stop by any time between 10 and noon on the 27th!”
Fans are also invited on the 27th to attend the coinciding Open House event, where they can take advantage of a merchandise Sidewalk Sale and taste samples of food items from around the ballpark starting at 12pm. That Saturday will be the first day of Spring Training for the Wild Things and fans are encouraged to stick around to watch the team hit the field at 1pm.
The Washington Wild Things will open their 18th season of Frontier League Baseball in May. The home opener is slated for Friday, May 17th.
