Wild Things Re-sign Yezzo and Fraudin
Washington Wild Things fans will see some familiar faces on the field for the 2016 season. Infielder Jimmy Yezzo and RHP Matt Fraudin are slated to return this year.
Infielder Jimmy Yezzo also returns for his second season with the Wild Things. The New Jersey native was drafted by the Washington Nationals in the seventh round of the 2013 MLB Draft. He spent the last three years playing in the Nationals farm system. He played in 28 games with Washington last season and had 27 hits and a batting average of .248.
RHP Matt Fraudin will also return to Washington for the 2016 season. He finished with a 3-2 record and 3.28 ERA last season. The pitcher is local to the area, having graduated from Upper St. Clair. He gained college experience at Gardner-Webb University before playing in the Frontier League. He led the Big South Conference in strikeouts during his sophomore and junior campaigns.
