Wild Things Add Brandon Hinkle to 2016 Roster
The Washington Wild Things announced that LHP Brandon Hinkle is joining the team for the 2016 season.
Hinkle is a Lancaster, PA native and was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 34th round of the 2014 MLB Draft.
He pitched for the University of Delaware before joining the Gulf Coast League Blue Jays in the Toronto system. In 2014, he had 55 strikeouts for Delaware and earned the honor of Colonial Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week. He was also named to the Colonial Athletic Association All-Tournament Team. He pitched eight innings to win over Northeastern in the 2014 CAA tournament.
He played for the Toronto affiliate Vancouver Canadians of the Northwest League in 2015. He finished his campaign with a 1.14 ERA and 33 strikeouts.
The lefthander joins the Wild Things with a familiar face on the team. Hinkle played alongside Wild Things infielder Jimmy Yezzo at Delaware.
