Washington Stages Another Come From Behind Victory to Beat the Boomers!
Schaumburg, IL – The Washington Wild Things (7-5) traveled to Schaumburg Illinois for a three game series with the Schaumburg Boomers Friday. The Wild Things emerged victorious, coming from behind once again to defeat Schaumburg (3-10) by a final score of 6 – 4.
A single and walk by Schaumburg’s Josh Gardiner and Paul Kronenfeld set up a two run triple by Chris Robinson, giving the Boomers an early 2-0 lead. A two run shot by Shawn Payne extended the lead for Schaumburg to 4-0.
The Wild Things began their comeback in the top of the 5th with a Jimmy Yezzo solo home run, cutting the lead to 4-1. Two walks and a single by Jamal Austin set up a Bryan Haar double that scored three runs to tie the game at four. Ricky Rodriguez delivered the winning run in the top of the 6th with his second home run of the season. Bryan Haar delivered again in the top of the 7th with an RBI double that scored Jamal Austin to give the Wild Things a 6-4 final score victory.
