Wild Things Drop Game Three But Win Series Against the Schaumburg Boomers
Schaumburg, IL – The Washington Wild Things dropped game three in a three game series against the Schaumburg Boomers by a score of 11-3 Saturday night in Illinois.
Washington won the first two games in the series. Washington got on the board first when in the second inning Jimmy Yezzo’s RBI ground out drove in David Popkins who had reached base on a walk. Grant Fink went on to drive in Jimmy Rodriguez who reached base on an error.
The Boomers answered in the bottom of the frame with four runs: Dusty Robinson drove in Chris Robinson and Ino Petron grabbed the lead for his team with a three run homer.
In the third inning Rodriguez plated Austin Wobrock who reached on a walk, but that was all the offense the Wild Things could muster.
The Boomers went on to score another seven runs to win the game.
Tyler Garkow took the loss for Washington allowing five runs on seven hits, walking two and striking out three in 4.2 innings of work. Bryan O’Keefe and Devon Davis combined for three innings.
Monday is a travel day for Washington who will head to Normal, Illinois for a three game series against the Cornbelters. RHP Trevor Fox is scheduled to take the hill for the Wild Things.The Wild Things return to CONSOL Energy Park Friday for a three game series.
