Cleveland Indians Purchase Foss's Contract
Washington, PA (August 3, 2016) On Wednesday, The Washington Wild Things announced that RHP Trevor Foss has been promoted to the Cleveland Indians organization. The ace of the Washington staff had his contract purchased and was sent immediately to their Class A affiliate Lake County of the Midwest League.
Foss, in his first season as a Wild Thing, was on a historic pace in the Frontier League. Through his 14 starts, Foss led the league in two distinguished categories, collecting eight wins and shouldering over 100 innings of work. Foss was one complete game short of tying the Frontier League record, which has stood since 2000.
Prior to his year with Washington, Trevor Foss spent three seasons with the LA Angels, following his 22nd round selection. In 2015, Foss shined in the hitter-friendly California League and was a priority signing for Washington in the early spring.
“I would really like to thank everyone involved with the Wild Things. It was truly a great experience from the very start. It was a pleasure having the honor to work with Banger (Gregg Langbehn), Mike (Marshall), all of my teammates, the front office and especially the fans. I am grateful for the opportunity to get back into affiliated ball, but hopeful that my path will cross with as many members of the Wild Things’ family as possible in the near future,” Foss noted as he addressed his tenure in Washington.
Foss will join the class of recent Wild Things now in affiliated baseball: Stewart Ijames (Diamondbacks-AA), Chris Smith (Blue Jays-AA), Quincy Latimore (Orioles-AA) and Michael Hepple (Mets-AA).
