Wild Things Fall To Crushers
The Washington Wild Things (45-48) and the Lake Erie Crushers (47-47) met at All Pro Freight Stadium to begin a three same set on Friday, September 2, 2016. Lake Erie defeated the Wild Things with a score of 6-1.
RHP Christian Powell (1-1) was the losing pitcher for Washington; during his four innings on the mound, Powell struck out four Crushers and allowed four hits. Lake Erie RHP Steve Hagen (7-6) earned the win on the hill.
Lake Erie scored early when Eric Grabe tripled, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first. The Crushers tallied the scoreboard again the fourth and the fifth off of a Connor Oliver single and a Sean Hurley double. The Crushers scored their final run in the seventh. Washington’s solo run came when Ricky Rodriguez knocked in Andrew Heck in the sixth. The Wild Things produced seven hits during the outing.
The Wild Things will continue their road trip tomorrow, Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 7:05 p.m. against the Lake Erie Crushers.
