Christine Blaine joined the Wild Things at their inception in October 2001. As the original employee of the organization, she had the opportunity to be a part of the committee who named the team the Wild Things and who created the art and the mascot that have become so beloved not only in the local community, but also throughout the league.
Prior to working with the Wild Things, Blaine taught high school English, Theatre, and Public Speaking at Fort LeBoeuf High School in Erie County, and she worked for the Meadows Race Track. The native of Butler, Blaine received an A.B. from Grove City College, and went on to further her education, earning an M.Ed. from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and an M.A. from Duquesne University.
In addition to the Wild Things, Blaine cheers for the Pittsburgh Steelers…she even named her miniature schnauzer Arf Rooney!
