Washington Swept in Doubleheader (Game Two Recap)
WASHINGTON, Pa. (June 14) - After a scoreless first inning in game two, the Wild Things took the lead 1-0. Back-to-back singles with no outs in the bottom of the second led to an RBI by Robert Chayka on a double. Also in the second inning, a two-RBI single by Nick Gotta made it 3-0.
Titans’ catcher Brandon Bannon hit a triple and eventually scored the first run of the game for Ottawa, leaving them trailing by just two after the top of the third. Bannon came across on a groundout by the debuting Kanta Kobayashi. In the top of the fourth, Ottawa’s AJ Wright hit his third home run of the night, cutting the deficit to one.
An RBI single by Taylor Wright brought the game to a tie in the sixth inning, before Wright scored on an RBI single by Bannen to give the Titans a lead they wouldn’t relinquish. A fifth run in the game scored for the Titans on an error by Justin Goossen-Brown.
A scoreless seventh inning sealed the deal for Ottawa as they left tonight with a clean sweep of the doubleheader over the Wild Things, 5-3.
