Wild Things Take Middle Game Behind Strong Start

FLORENCE, Ky. (June 16) - The Washington Wild Things stayed hot by winning their fourth-straight game by taking the middle game of the series in Florence, 5-1. Keven Pimentel picked up his third win of the season after throwing six inning of one-run ball while Trevor Casanova's fourth-inning two-run double that started the scoring turned out to be the game winner.

Casanova doubled in two runs in the fourth to start the scoring. Gabe Howell doubled in a run in the fifth before Florence scored to cut it to 3-1 with a Rodney Tennie single in the bottom of the fifth. Washington scored two more in the eighth on a Bralin Jackson sacrifice fly and an error by Florence pitcher Jared Cheek.

Pimentel allowed the one run on five hits and fanned four in his six innings before BJ Sabol, James Meeker and Zach Strecker threw three scoreless to wrap it up.

The Wild Things will look for the sweep tomorrow at 6:34 p.m. when Daren Osby takes the hill. Florence will counter with Jonaiker Villalobos.
