Cody Erickson Claims Player of the Week Award

Washington Wild Things’ catcher Cody Erickson and Windy City ThunderBolts’ starting pitcher Tyler Thornton go home with this week’s player and pitcher of the week, respectively, as chosen by Pointstreak, the official statistical provider of the Frontier League and the Independent Professional Baseball Federation.

Cody Erickson takes his talents from the Normal CornBelters to the Washington Wild Things. He had himself a week posting a .571 Average with 1 HR, 6 RBI, and a 1.571 OPS including multi-hit games in Evansville on Wednesday and at Gateway last night. This week saw Erickson raise batting average to a whopping .341 witch is second best amongst catchers in the league and tied for fourth in the league overall, with a minimum of 40 at bats.

Erickson is in his 2nd season in the Frontier League out of Cave Creek Arizona. The 24 year old signed with the Normal CornBelters in 2018 out of Central Arizona College. Erickson seems to have incorporated himself seamlessly into the high powered Washington’s offense.
