New Kids Program a Hit at Wild Things Park
WASHINGTON, Pa. (Feb. 19) - The Washington Wild Things are excited to announce two new packages to benefit families and kids across the Tri-State area. Partnering with WTAE, Dunkin’ Donuts, PA Leadership Charter School and Macaroni Kid of Pittsburgh, the Wild Things are introducing "Kids Eat Free" Sundays and a discounted kids ticket for all home games in 2018.
Through the brand-new kids membership program, all kids 12 and under receive a free ticket to all eight Sunday home games, a free meal voucher that includes a hot dog, chips and a drink and more benefits for each use, all part of "Kids Eat Free" Sundays, presented by WTAE. To add on, each use of the card gets the child a free Dunkin' Donut, and after five uses, kids will receive a free Washington Wild Things hat.

The Sunday schedule is themed for families and kids, with specialized entertainment and promotions. The fun starts on the first Sunday home date of the season, May 27, when all kids registered for the Kids Membership program get to go on the field at Wild Things Park prior to first pitch for a Kids Membership Parade. The schedule also includes a Replica Youth Jersey giveaway, presented by PA Leadership Charter School, for the first 500 kids in attendance, August 12. Weeks in between will be filled with unique themes for kids: Princess Night, Superhero Night, Star Wars Night and more. Not only will in-game entertainment and music match the theme, but the characters will come to life right in front of you, thanks to Fairytale Princess visits.
“We are going all in to make sure Wild Things Park is the best ballpark for families and kids. No other team in the country is offering a free program for every child, with a free ticket and free food included," said assistant general manager Tony Buccilli. "Their eyes are going to light up when they see their favorite characters and our entertainment will tie the night together. We cannot thank our partners enough for their support of this program."
Sundays will be extra special for kids, but the team is also announcing another kid-friendly offer Tuesday through Saturday. In 2018, every child 12 years old and younger will enjoy an $8 ticket to sit ANYWHERE in the ballpark. That means your kid can sit front row, next to the dugout or anywhere their heart desires for just $8. These $8 kids tickets will only be available via phone orders or walkup, not online. Children under three years old still do not need a ticket to enter the stadium.
“It is important we give lasting memories to the kids who attend our games. With this ticket offer, kids get to sit closer to the action and parents don’t have to break the bank to do so," said Buccilli. "We encourage families to grab a seat in the lower bowl, get to know our players and enjoy the entertainment up close. We never want finances to limit a child’s opportunity to enjoy America’s Pastime."
2018 will be a special year for the Wild Things, a team looking to build on a playoff appearance last season and a slate full of entertainment and promotions, with their #ForTheFans campaign. It's sure to be a #WildRide, so be sure to join us at Wild Things Park.
