Yankees' Prospect Signs with Washington
The Washington Wild Things have signed OF Nathan Mikolas to a contract for the 2017 season. Entering his 6th season of professional baseball, Mikolas adds versatility and athleticism to the roster.
Selected in the 3rd round of the 2012 MLB Draft, Mikolas began his journey with the New York Yankees at the age of 18. Over his five seasons with the Bronx Bombers, the young OF made appearances with; Staten Island, Pulaski and the Charleston River Dogs. Mikolas joins Washington with nearly 200 hits and over 100 RBI on his resume.
General Manager Steven Zavacky discussed the signing, “Nathan’s demeanor should pay dividends here in Washington. Being such a high draft selection, the tools are unquestionably there! We recognize that every player develops at his own pace and we look at Nathan and see a very high ceiling. I know he is very grateful for the opportunity and eager to embrace the road before him.”
