Washington Out Crushes Lake Erie

WASHINGTON, PA - The Washington Wild Things (3-2) continued a three game series against the Lake Erie Crushers (3-2), Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Sprenger Stadium. Washington crushed Lake Erie with a final score of 12-3.

RHP Trevor Foss (2-0) earned the win for the Wild Things. In his 6.0 innings on the mound, Foss struck out seven batters, and didn’t allow a walk. His ERA goes to 1.38. LHP Vince Apicella appeared on the mound for one inning, and RHP Aaron Burns appeared for two. RHP Josh Heddinger (0-1) picked up the loss for the Crushers.

Offensively, the Wild Things exploded - producing 16 hits throughout nine innings. The Wild Things first scored in the second inning when back-to-back-to-back doubles allowed the Wild Things to tally three runs. Washington scored again in the second inning, when two doubles and a single allowed four Wild Things to make it home. The visiting team then scored in the sixth when Hector Roa hit a double, scoring Kane Sweeney. In the seventh, Rashad Brown (1) hit a solo homerun, and Jackson hit in two more runs. The final Washington run came in the ninth when Kenny Peoples-Walls knocked in Mike Hill.
