Wild Things sign Yankees LHP Kendrick

The Washington Wild Things made another splash signing, adding Yankees LHP Conner Kendrick. The southpaw spent 3 seasons with the New York Yankees following a season with the Auburn Tigers of the SEC. In 2013, Kendrick made 19 appearances and 9 starts, ending the season with 5 wins and a stifling 2.13 ERA. Kendrick was an early selection of the Bronx Bombers, being a 9th round draft pick, #284 overall. During his career with the Yanks, the Georgia native made 35 starts and shouldering over 200 innings. In 2015, Kendrick made appearances in 4 levels of the Yankees' system; Charleston (A), Tampa (A+), Trenton (AA) and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (AAA). Being a Yankee prospect, Kendrick shared the diamond and the clubhouse with former Wild Thing star RHP Chris Smith.

Manager Gregg Langbehn shared his expectations of Conner, "Signing Kendrick was another priority and quality sign. We expect him to be a front-end rotation guy to eat up a ton of quality innings this season."

The Washington Wild Things will play their home opener May, 20 against the Lake Erie Crushers at 7:05 p.m.  For more information, visit washingtonwildthings.com or call 724.250.9555.
