Washington Falls to Evansville
Evansville, IN (August 3, 2016) – The Washington Wild Thing fell to the Evansville Otters at Bosse Field Wednesday by a score of 4-2.
Five pitchers took the hill for Washington. Sam Agnew-Weiland (2-3) suffered the loss for the Wild Things, allowing four runs on five hits, striking out three in 4.1 innings of work. Hunter Ackerman earned the win for the Otters.
Evansville got on the board in the first inning on a Josh Allen solo home run. Kaeo Aliviado’s RBI single in the second gave the Otters a two run advantage.
Washington answered with two runs in the fourth inning when David Popkins drove in Ricky Rodriguez who reached base on a triple. Logan Uxa’s RBI double drove in Popkins and knotted the score.
Evansville went on to score in the fifth inning when Nik Balog smacked a two RBI double, which was all Evansville would need to win the game.
Chase Cunningham is scheduled to start the third and final game of the series Thursday night when first pitch is at 7:35 EDT. Airtime on MSA Sports.net is 7:20.
