Johnson enters his first season with the Wild Things after signing October 25, 2018 and second in pro ball after playing last year in 14 games for the Winnipeg Goldeyes of the American Association. He logged 21 innings and struck out 13 to just six walks. He missed the 2016 season at San Jose State and red-shirted it due to injury for transferring to UTRGV. Johnson lists his favorite baseball memory as hitting a grand slam in Little League All Stars.
