Meet the Wild Thing
When CONSOL Energy Park was being built in 2002, the construction crew spotted a wild animal. The creature became a regular around the construction sire. Because this wild thing seemed to be fascinated with the baseball team, the organization adopted him as their mascot…the Washington Wild Thing!
Wild Thing has become, without a doubt, the number one fan of the team. He attends all home games and listens to WJPA or www.msasportsnetwork.com when the team is away, so he can keep up with their performance. He’s even been seen on the field during batting practice, offering pointers to the players.
Wild Thing says his favorite foods include hot dogs, peanuts and Cracker Jacks; and he is often found at the concession stands purchasing snacks! Wild Thing enjoys attending kids’ birthday parties (even though he never gets an invite!), participating in the many in-game promotions, and he loves to dance!
If you’d like Wild Thing to attend an event at your school, business, or other event, please download the appearance request form. He’ll get back with you to discuss the details!
