Washington, Pa. – The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Financial, today announced the results of voting for members of the team’s All-Decade Team. Members of the team will be honored at a Wild Things game on Saturday, July 16.
Fans had voted online for a manager and players at each position between Feb. 22 and May 2. The winning vote-getters are:
• Manager: John Masserelli
• Left-handed Starting Pitcher: Jared Howton
• Right-handed Starting Pitcher: Ryan Douglass
• Relief Pitcher: Jim Popp
• Catcher: Josh Loggins
• First Baseman: Zach Cates
• Second Baseman: Michael Parker
• Shortstop: John Cahill
• Third baseman: Jason Kane
• Outfielder: Mike Arbinger
• Outfielder: Chris Carter
• Outfielder: Chris Sidick
• Designated Hitter: Jacob Dempsey
At the July 16 Wild Things game against the Lake Erie Crushers, which starts at 6:35 p.m., the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a special All-Decade Team baseball card set giveaway. Several members of the All-Decade Team will be on hand for an autograph session and will be honored on the field. Further details will be announced at a later date.
The Wild Things will open their “9 + one” season presented by National Gold & Silver Refinery at CONSOL Energy Park tomorrow, Tuesday, May 24, against the Traverse City Beach Bums at 6:35 p.m. Season ticket, half-season and mini plan packages are on sale now, and deposits for group tickets are being accepted.
